Great for Recycling June 9, 2010

These bins are great for sorting recycling items, and 4 bins are just right for glass, cans, plastic and paper. We keep ours in the garage, and they stack neatly so as not to take up too much floor space. The hinged covers stay up as you're filling the bin so you have both hands free to toss items in them. They're a convenient size, large enough to accommodate 3-4 weeks worth of recyclables for our 2-person family (provided you crush the cans and plastic bottles), yet small enough to easily transport in our van or truck to the recycling center. Easy to clean - just hose out. Great bargain, too, as similar bins cost 1 1/2 to twice as much at retail stores. We are very pleased with them and would recommend them highly. The only drawback might be that they are all the same plain color (gray & black), instead of being brightly colored in different colors like some other sets we've seen, but the brightly colored ones come in a set of only 3 for about the same price as this one does for 4. We label each bin with what goes in there so there is no need for color differentiation, and in fact we prefer the monochromatic plain color scheme.

Have looked at many bins until i found these. Features I like:

1. Stackable
2. Lids can open when stacked
3. Durable
4. Large enough to not fill up in a day or two - even with plastics
5. Affordable
6. Reasonable appearance - don't scream "ugly" in the kitchen

The Stacking Bins arrived in good time and shape. They were exactly as described and are, in my opinion, a bargain for the price paid. These are not small bins; they are adequately-sized for recycling bins (which was my purpose for them) and are well made. I anticipate they will last for a long time and really appreciate that you can open them WHILE STACKED. For me, this is an essential component and what sets them apart from competitor products that require you to rearrange the bins before you can open them. These are the all-inclusive.

Bought these as recycling containers to cut down on insects flying around them. They do that job relatively well, and I appreciate the stacking factor, BUT!!! The lids are pretty flimsy, and you have to treat them gently. With six boys putting recycling into them all day long, I am nervous about how long the lids will survive.
